On the 8th of March we are celebrating the international Women’s day and I can’t help but thinking of two of the most influential women in my life … my grandma Margarita and my mother Martha.

My mother has fomented my values and has been a fearful supporter of my entrepreneur initiatives and spirit but my grandma though, taught me how to cook and also how to discover the art of chilli combinations … There is an old saying in the family that she used to repeat: ‘Mexico has as many varieties of chilli as the hairs on my head’… and believe me, she was so right!

As we say in Mexico: “mi vieja” is all ! – She has always been Grandma, mother, wife, what will we do without you women!

I feel extremely blessed to have found amazing women along the way that have contributed immensely to my life.  And it keeps happening now through my KANKUN® project as it has allowed me to meet a great group of joyful women, that are contributing to spread the word and love about Mexican traditions, culture and food here in UK.

They were thrilled by the “Liberate your Luchador Challenge” but they not only tried – tested – our KANKUN® sauce, they also came up with some outstanding comments and recipes that I’m dying to share with you !

Ladies you rock! … and yes, I have carefully heard  your suggestions and will continue to create easy and enjoyable recipes to share with, so please don’t stop sharing with me all your ideas and recommendations.

Emma’s fajitas …

“I enjoyed the KANKUN® chipotle sauce over steak fajita’s and it added  a fantastic variation on what I would say is one of my favourite dishes. I fried the steak, and then sliced it into strips, and heated the tortillas, diced the lettuce, and prepared some sour cream and grated cheese.  Instead of the salsa, I used the KANKUN® chipotle sauce. My tastebuds became alive with a variety of spice, flavours, and warmth of Mexico.”
