Spice up the International Crêpes day with KANKUN®

Let’s add some Mexican notes to your crêpes; the raisins, olives and mix of spices will give a sweet-sour-salty flavour while the chipotle sauce adds the Mexican notes to your dish.

  • 8 Crêpes (cooked from scratch or readymade)

For the filling:

  • 1 lb/455g ground beef
  • 1 can of chopped tomatoes
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 chopped garlic
  • 1 tbsp of ground cumin, 1 tsp of thyme, 1tsp oregano, 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup of chopped raisins
  • 1/3 cup of olives
  • 1 tbsp of olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

For the sauce

  • 180ml sour cream
  • 1 bottle of KANKUN® chipotle sauce


Prepare the filling:

Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Add the onion and cook, stirring, until soft.

Add the garlic, stir for 1 minute, and then stir in the spices (cumin, thyme, oregano, cinnamon).

Cook for 30 sec, stirring so the spices don’t burn, until everything is fragrant.

Add the beef and cook it, breaking it into small chunks, after 2 to 3 minutes, add the tomatoes, increase the heat to medium-high, and cook, stirring and continuing to break up the meat into crumbles, until the mixture has come together and thickened slightly, about 5 minutes more. Stir in the raisins and olives, and then season with more salt and spices.

Chipotle cream:

Combine the sour cream and add 6 tbsp of KANKUN® chipotle sauce (you can add more chipotle depending on the label of spice you wish). Thin out the cream with 2 to 3 tbsp of water if needed.

Serve and enjoy:

Heat the crêpes. Lay them on a plate, spoon the meat preparation in the middle in a thick horizontal line across the center of each one. Roll the crêpes into fat cylinders. Drizzle the crêpes with the KANKUN® chipotle cream and serve.
