“Nachos are Mexican in origin, and were created in 1943 by Ignacio “Nacho” Anaya who was working in a restaurant in Piedras Negras in Mexico. He needed to create a snack quickly for some army wives after the restaurant had already closed and simply threw together the ingredients he had to hand”.
